In 2005 Sheikh was awarded the Henri Cartier-Bresson International Grand Prize, which enabled the research and creation of the Ladli exhibition, which opened at the Henri Cartier-Bresson Foundation in Paris and was subsequently toured through Europe and the United States in concert with the Moksha exhibition under the title Beloved Daughters. The exhibition was co-organized by the Henri Cartier-Bresson Foundation, Paris, and the Princeton University Art Museum. Exhibition venues included the following:
