October 4, 2011. Planting of the JNF Ambassador Forest upon the Bedouin land of al-‛Araqīb as part of the JNF’s afforestation campaign. The troughs contain two- to three-year-old seedlings that were grown elsewhere and have been recently transplanted in advance of rain. The area between the troughs, left unplanted and with the scoured shallow scraping typical of Bedouin farming, is currently being claimed by the Bedouin community. The dirt road leading between the recognized village of Tarabīn and Highway 40 runs on a diagonal through the image frame. The Abu Siām cemetery (see 28) is adjacent to the space and is one of the five cemeteries that are all that remain of the unrecognized village of al-‛Araqīb within the Ambassador Forest.
