Notes on the authors

FAZAL SHEIKH is an artist who uses photographs to document displaced peoples, disputed landscapes, and areas ravaged by industrial extraction and overuse. His most recent full-scale project is The Erasure Trilogy (Steidl, 2015).

JONAH YELLOWMAN is a Navajo (Diné) spiritual advisor and was a board member of Utah Diné Bikéyah during the years it fought for the establishment, and later reestablishment, of Bears Ears National Monument.

JEFFREY RALSTON MOORE is a professor of Geology & Geophysics at the University of Utah, Salt Lake City, where he leads the Geohazards research group in monitoring the structural health of land formations across the western landscape.
