October 9, 2011. Foundations and remains of the demolished home and belongings of the Altoh’i family, of the ‛Azāzme tribe, in the vicinity of Bīr Haddāj, one of the Bedouin townships officially recognized as part of the Abu Basma Plan (see 10, 60). Originally expelled from the Ḥalutza Sands area in 1980, the family returned to the Bīr Haddāj vicinity in 1994 when they learned that the land on which they had previously settled was no longer used for military purposes but had been converted into a moshav. The villagers were only able to rebuild their homes two kilometers north of their original location. They remained living there until 2006, when the Israeli military demolished the house and evicted them. Evidence on the ground suggests a violent removal, with structural remains and belongings strewn about the site. In the upper left hand corner are the small-scale crops of the Bedouins.
